Freightliner Corporation enlists EDC Ltd. to design Class 8 truck hood

Portland, Oregon (2000) Freightliner Corporation, a subsidiary of Freightliner LLC, recently introduced a new truck model to its Century Class line of heavy trucks. Dubbed the Columbia, this truck was to be a slightly downgraded version of the current Century Class. Common reasoning would lead one to believe that a cheaper price also means cheaper looks, but that's not the case with the Columbia. A frontal view of this truck exudes a sense of quality and luxury that rivals luxury cars such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW.

When Freightliner and their hood supplier, Cambridge Industries, went searching for a firm to provide engineering and design resources, they enlisted Engineering Design Consultants, Ltd.
