EDC provides meshing for new Coronado hood

Portland, Ore., 2001--Engineering Design Consultants, Ltd. (EDC) of Portland, Ore., announced the completion of meshing designs for the new Freightliner line of Coronado heavy trucks. Specifically, EDC performed the FEA/FEM of the new Coronado hood design. The Coronado is marketed as the newest and most advanced truck model made specifically for personal heavy truck owner operators.

In an attempt to make the Coronado resemble larger heavy trucks, Freightliner hired EDC to create a new hood design. In its completion, the new larger hood gives the Coronado the appearance of traditional heavy truck and allows the truck to support the largest of Freightliner's class eight diesel engine models.

Thanks to the work of the creative designers at Freightliner and EDC, the Coronado has developed into one of the industries' most user-friendly truck models. The Coronado truck FEA/FEM hood design also maintains Freightliner and EDC's commitment to safety by meeting major European crash test standards.
