EDC wins another award for the 'N Touch all-in-one computer

Portland, Ore., February 2002-Engineering Design Consultants, Ltd. (EDC) received a first place designation in this year’s CATIA Award for Design and Engineering Excellence (CADEE) contest. The contest, sponsored by Dassault Systems, CATIA Solutions Magazine, COE, and IBM, honors cutting edge engineering designs created using powerful CATIA software. EDC’s ‘N Touch wireless PC design was one of only six designs to win an award.

All design entries were judged in five categories (automotive, aerospace, electronic and electrical, mechanical machinery, and shipbuilding/AEC), and were divided based on company size. Winners were determined based on design excellence (40 percent), technical expertise (40 percent), and presentation aesthetics (20 percent). All entries were judged by highly qualified design representatives from Dassault Systemes, ConnectPress, Cambashi Ltd. and IBM.

This 2001 CATIA Award for Design and Engineering Excellence is not the first award ever bestowed on the very innovative ‘N Touch design. In 2000 the ‘N Touch design earned the EDC engineering staff the prestigious Intel award for outstanding delivery of a concept PC platform. The ‘N Touch was also featured in the September 2000 issue of Machine Design Magazine, and the January 2001 issue of the German publication Computer Channel.
