EDC designs electrical systems for American LaFrance truck

PORTLAND, Ore., 2001--Engineering Design Consultants, Ltd. (EDC) of Portland, Ore., recently completed the electrical design and installation diagrams for the American LaFrance line of Condor trucks. EDC was hired to engineer the entire integrated electrical design of the Condor’s cab, chassis, transmission, batteries, doors and engine.

To design the electrical components quickly and correctly EDC utilized Mentor Graphics Logic Cable technology to create electrical diagrams with confirmed circuitry. Traditionally designed cable harnesses must undergo manual testing to confirm circuitry; a very time consuming process that often results in the need for design re-working. On-site liaisons and expert electrical engineers supplied by EDC ensured the electrical designs on the Condor ran flawlessly and were of the utmost quality.

Thanks to the expert use of highly technical programs like Logic Cable, engineers at EDC were able to design the Condor electrical systems in record time; cutting the total time-to-market for the Condor down to an amazing eight weeks.
