Diversification of Services
While
EDC’s background lies in automotive design, the company has expanded widely
over the last five years to offer expert design engineering in areas ranging
from electrical to consumer design. Some of our most recent design projects
include a revolutionary new insect trap, hotel room modems, and an all-in-one
wireless computer. Please read more below about some of the very unique
projects EDC has completed.

The new insect trap, titled the Intercept Panel Trap for Bark Beetles
(PTBB) is the product of joint engineering design by Integrated Pest
Management and EDC. The new trap, which uses considerably less insecticide
than other traps and offers a water only method of beetle eradication,
is an affordable and highly effective alternative to funnel traps and
the traditional, environmentally damaging insecticide spray methods
of bark beetle eradication.

In
an effort to keep the business traveler connected, EDC and Suite Technologies
designed the STSN hotel room modem. The new modem can be placed in any
hotel, regardless of building design, and essentially lets travelers “plug-and-play”
instantly in the privacy of their rooms.

Always
on, always connected is the motto for the ‘N Touch II. It’s a powerful,
all-in-one companion PC based on Intel Architecture. Easy to use
and affordable, its cradle unit and any wall outlet become a passport
to the Internet. The ‘N Touch II was unveiled at the Intel Developer
Forum (IDF) in San Jose, CA. The ‘N Touch was one of only a handful
of independent designs to be featured in the prestigious E-Home
showcase.
Leaders
of the Intel Developer’s Forum were so impressed with the ‘N Touch
architecture they awarded EDC the prestigious Intel award for outstanding
delivery of a concept PC platform.
