NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Engineering Design Consultants, Ltd. announce powerful all-in-one concept companion PC based on Intel Architecture 'N Touch II … is it a laptop or desktop computer? Both! Portland, Oregon, September 2000 - Engineering Design Consultants, Ltd. (EDC) announced today their latest concept PC -the 'N Touch II. Always on, always connected is the motto for the 'N Touch II. It's a powerful, all-in-one companion PC based on Intel Architecture. Easy to use and affordable, its cradle unit and any wall outlet become your passport to the Internet. These functions can be used anywhere-in your home, your office, and even your car since it offers touch-screen capability. EDC, based in Portland, Oregon, created, designed and developed this latest version. The 'N Touch II was unveiled at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) in San Jose, CA in August 2000. It's sleek black structure and rugged rubber handles drew praise, but its real attention-grabber was the unique and compact frame. Removable from its base, it can sit in its cradle for easy desktop use or you can pick it up and take it with you-there's no need to transfer information back and forth from laptops and palmtops to your desktop computer. It can function as all three. "The basis of this design is to give you freedom with your PC," says Rodger Garner, EDC President. "With its touch screen capability you can use it virtually anywhere-even in your car." The 'N Touch was designed to integrate seamlessly within the home environment. EDC wanted to build a PC that was attractive and stylish to get away from the "gray box" look of the traditional PC. It's sleek appearance, ease of use and single plug-and-play simplicity makes it ideal for the novice or experienced computer user. Steve Whalley, ease of use initiative manager, Intel Corporation, said, "We are excited to see this convenient, all-in-one concept PC based on Intel architecture. EDC has created a highly mobile, stylish and functional system that provides increased benefits to the consumer with easy Internet access from any room of the home or office location." EDC specializes in mechanical engineering design for the automotive, aerospace and consumer product markets. For more information, visit www.edc-ltd.com or call 503-735-2100. # # # Media
