NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release 'N Touch…multimedia picture frame or simple home computer? PORTAND, Oregon - What's powerful, yet affordable, extremely user friendly, uses a single plug and provides not just full PC services but is a wireless passport to the internet? The 'N Touch, a concept computer that does just what it's name implies. It keeps the user "in touch"-whether as a babycam, internet porthole or simple PC. Created, designed and developed by Engineering Design Consultants, Ltd. (EDC) in Portland, Oregon, the 'N Touch was unveiled at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) in Palm Springs, CA in February 2000. The 'N Touch concept PC, billed as a wireless, "active computing picture frame," was very well-received by show attendees. "We were amazed at the incredible attention the 'N Touch received at IDF," said EDC CEO, Rodger P. Garner. "As a matter of fact, we could have sold a number of them on the spot if we had them available." "EDC has truly showcased an innovative PC concept with the 'N Touch," said Jory Radke, design engineering manager, Intel Corporation. "We welcome such innovations to the PC industry." The 'N Touch was designed to integrate seamlessly within the home environment. EDC wanted to build a PC that was attractive and stylish to get away from the "gray box" look of the traditional PC. It's sleek appearance, ease of use and single plug-and-play simplicity makes it ideal for the novice or experienced computer user. EDC, traditionally a firm that specializes in automotive and mechanical engineering design welcomed this unique project as an opportunity to diversify its operations. "Cross pollinating ideas and technologies from several industries allows us to introduce innovative new concepts very quickly-a fact noted by 'N Touch's metamorphosis from idea to fully functioning product in less than six weeks," says Mike Smith, EDC Chief Engineer. "It's been very exciting and refreshing to stretch ourselves in the high tech design arena," remarks Rodger. EDC is currently selecting a manufacturing partner to bring the 'N Touch to the consumer. EDC's price target for the consumer is under $1,000.00 and expects systems to be available for sale in the near future. "Our vision is to make it available to the public as soon as possible," he says. # # # 2/11/01edEDC
